Soapstone sculptures, 'Sea Turtles' (pair)

Strong flippers adapted for swift swimming pull sea turtles slowly across the sandy beach. Lifting weathered heads toward the sun, these enchanting creatures share a secret. Kuldeep Sirohi sculpts the elegant figures from naturally colored soapstone. Carved by hand in classic jali, or "openwork" style, each holds a smaller turtle inside.
